Privacy Policy and Handling of Personal Data

Liberis has established a policy regarding the handling of personal data to ensure compliance with data protection laws and the handling of personally identifiable information. The company is committed to treating all information as confidential. Additionally, our systems are configured to keep data secure. This policy covers the registration, storage, and processing of personal data.

The handling of personal data is governed by Act No. 90/2018 on Data Protection and the Handling of Personal Data. Liberis employees/contractors are regularly informed about the current laws and regulations regarding data protection and the processing of personal data.

When processing and storing sensitive personal data, utmost care must be taken. Sensitive personal data is defined in Article 3, Item 1 of the aforementioned law, and employees/contractors are thoroughly informed about what constitutes sensitive personal data.

With appropriate technical and organizational measures, Liberis strives to ensure the security of personal data and to prevent unlawful processing and loss or destruction of data. In the event of a security breach, it will be reported to the Data Protection Authority and the affected individual.

Personal data is only processed when necessary and when permitted or required by law. Individuals have the right to withdraw their consent for Liberis to use their personal data and can request at any time that Liberis modify, cease to use, or delete personally identifiable information about them. Such a request must be made in writing.

Liberis may share information with third parties when necessary to protect vital interests, such as for academic progress or debt collection. Only the personal data necessary for the third party is provided, and we ensure that they are obligated to keep the information secure and use it only for the agreed-upon purpose.

Liberis is responsible for the registration and handling of personal data within its operations. Liberis endeavors to keep personal data accurate and reliable, updating it as necessary. Personal data is retained for a maximum of seven years from the end of the business relationship.

Liberis records and stores information about students and contractors in two systems: an accounting system and a student registry. The accounting system is used to manage payment and collection status, while the student registry is used to organize courses and track academic progress. These systems are hosted in cloud solutions by recognized service providers. Access is controlled so that only managers (the executive director and the office manager) have access, and they handle all registrations and use of these systems.
